NORTH NICARAGUA

Surferelle Stage 2–3 · May 22–29, 2027 · 7 nights

One of the most special places in Nicaragua ✨

Amaru Nicaragua is a resort that Tim and I visit EVERY YEAR for Barrel Boot Camp and to enjoy some quiet time to surf together — but there actually are a TON of great waves for all levels around the resort. So this year, we're opening it up as a Stage 2–3 Surferelle coaching trip!

Seven nights, eight women. Daily coaching, daily video, daily yoga, and a surf videography package. The resort sits on a 40-acre point that reaches out into the Pacific and divides two beaches, with a ton of other waves for a range of levels around it.

This property is not only incredibly beautiful, but it also includes so many amazing features, and it's going to be such a special week showing you all this little sanctuary while scoring super fun waves!

The Surfing

A 40-acre point with a lot of options around it.

Amaru sits on a point that reaches out into the Pacific and splits two beaches, with world-class surf all around and a ton of other waves for all levels nearby. There's on-land transport to the local breaks and boat transfers out to the point breaks and secluded beaches, so we're not stuck with one option — which matters more at Stage 2 and 3 than most people realize, because we can go wherever suits the group best on the day.

I'll be coaching you in and out of the water every day, and your waves will be filmed. We review clips daily as a group, where I'll give you the detailed and honest surf coaching that makes Surferelle trips what they are — and you'll have the space to ask me as many questions as you want so you can feel good about what you're working on for the next session!

Where You'll Stay

Amaru Nicaragua — a 40-acre property on the point, with gardens, wellness shalas and a handful of other structures dotted around it. You can join in with whatever's happening communally or take yourself off on your own, and both are easy here. That's a big part of why we keep coming back.

Rooms are air-conditioned with private ensuite bathrooms, and there's private access down to a secluded beachfront.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are made for you every day, plus a pre-breakfast bar with granola, fruit and homemade bread for anyone heading out early.

Beyond the Surf

All of this is included, not extra:

  • Daily yoga classes
  • Temazcal ceremony
  • Sea turtle release
  • Estuary boat trip
  • Wake surfing

Getting There

You fly yourself to Managua (MGA), and the drive up to northern Nicaragua is about 3.5 to 4 hours. Bring snacks!

Land around 1pm, and you'll usually get to Amaru around 6 or 7pm with a transfer included in your package. Land around 9:30pm, and you'll be arriving much later (around 1 or 2am) and might have to pay separately for your taxi, though the drive is sometimes faster at night.
